Conclusion

The CCRC annual meeting was held January 10, 2009 at the Golden Corral in Pelham, Al. This was our first year to move the meeting place so far north of the track. This was done to help the majority of our races with travel time. The food and service was great! Hopefully we can use the Golden Coral again. Now onto the business...

To start: Marlin present us with the Treasurer's Report. As usual, the report was detailed, very informative and spot on. Accounting is Marlin's lively hood and his reports have always been top notch.

Next come officer elections. Our President's position is a two year term but we voted him in again anyway!

That left us to nominate and elect the remaining positions of VP, Treasurer and Secretary. David Popham was the only member nominated for VP and was unanimously voted in.

This is the same case for the Treasurers position with Marlin Wade being nominated and unanimously voted in. Marlin has served the Treasurer's position for many years running now. Without him, our club would surely have difficulty tracking our finances.

Mike Clark was nominated and unanimously voted in as Secretary. This will be Mike's first year serving as club Secretary.

We also voted to add a position of Webmaster in the case our Secretary cannot perform that duty. Since I was acting Webmaster for the club, it was voted that yours truly will continue to host our site at Webmaster by nomination and election.

Other Club business areas: We will be providing fuel for all club events in 2009. This will be evaluated for the first three races to see if the club can afford to continue with the supply.

Our 2008 Track Champions Honored

Allen Johnson accepting his First Place trophy in the Club Points Championship.2008 saw the points our club championship go down to the wire between David Popham and Allen Johnson. The last race of the season was the deciding factor in the point’s. David gave it a valiant effort “I kept trying that Carl Edwards move every other lap. Carl said it worked on video games, so I thought maybe it would work for Q-scale but in the end Allen slammed the door shut on another point’s championship at Lagoon Park Raceway.Congrats to Allen for a tough season long battle!

David Popham accepting one of two trophies on the day. David finished a close second in our club point series. Congrats to David for one heck of a season of racing!

Wayne Rodgers accepting his trophy for third place in the club points. This was Wayne's first season of 1/4 scale racing. He certainly caught on quick and has been running strong in the Sportsman class since day one.

Bob Claussen accepting his first place trophy for the Truck class in the Super Series.

Bob has been a QSAC NCS Champion in the truck class! Congrats to Bob!

Jerry Evans accepting his first place trophy for Sportsman in the Super Series. Jerry clicked off several wins in 2008 earning him the title "Sherriff of LPR".

At one time we thought we would have to put a bounty on him to get another in the winners bracket!

Will Landers accepting his second place trophy for Sportsman in the Super Series.

Will was our 2007 Club Points Champion dominating the field with more wins and appearances than anyone that year.

Congratulations to the rest of our 2008 performers.

The Class

The Limited Sportsman class will be running for a Points Championship in 2009. This class seems to be were most of us have our eyes trained wondering "who will be the next Top Gun" at LPR?

Driver's Bio

Information

This season we are adding a Driver Bio page to our web site. We are asking anyone that races LPR to send in the information emailed along with a pic of you and/or your car so we can let the world see our racers. If you didn't receive an email please send your email address to our webmaster email on the contact page.

Conclusion

Track

Another season is fast approaching. Many racers are already working on their 2009 rides by rebuilding, tuning and tweaking them. Some are fighting off the race bug while others are fighting off the honey do list.

One day I would like to mention that really needs a nice turnout is our Work Day. It's easy to overlook our track maintenance when racing is going on. This is why it is so important to get the repairs and upgrades completed early in the year. This will leave us with a nice facility and plenty of time to race. Please join us on work day this year. After all, it is your track too and you should be proud of it's looks..
